I met John 4 years ago when I joined a gym called Anytime Fitness
My first day walking into the gym I see a 60 year-old man sweating it out on the elliptical.
He was in outstanding shape.
In my mind I remember thinking that I would love to look like that at 60.
Shoot... I think he was in better shape than I was at the time. I had about 10 pounds of fat I wanted to lose and this guy inspired me.
He didn't have ANY fat to lose.
I saw this guy each and every morning. Some days he would do a free weight workout and other days he would mainly use machines.
No matter what, he always ended his workout spending about 30 minutes on the elliptical.
About two weeks later he introduces himself.
We talk for a bit. I ask about his workout, where he lives, etc.
His name is John. He tells me he was a CFO for some sort of finance company and was able to retire ten years ago.
I am surprised, because in my mind that means he was able to retire at about 50.
"Is it cool for me to ask how old you are?"
"No problem. I turn 75 this year."
John is 75!
I had never seen a 75 year-old in this type of condition. John looks like an ultra-fit version of Clint Eastwood.
By his face you can tell he isn't 50... but from the shoulders down is in better shape than most 40 year olds who workout.
This is NOT a picture of John, but he looked similar to the guy in this picture.
"You should see my wife", he tells me.
Apparently John has a wife who is 5 years younger and looks awesome. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and shows me a picture.
She also looks AMAZING.
She trains at a different gym, because he tells me when you are retired it is good to have a little time apart from each other.
Supposedly you can drive each other nuts if you are together 100% of the time every day (makes sense).
I become friends with John.
Two years after training alongside John and picking his brain, both he and his wife moved to Mexico.
John is now over 80 and probably out playing on the beach all day with his wife.
They are true inspirations.
I release my newest program this upcoming April.
12 weeks physical transformation journey
The course is a combination of my research and experience...
...along with lessons John taught me over the course of two years.
I want for you to have an AMAZING run in this life.
Developing the proper exercise habit is crucial to making this happen.
The biggest excuse people have for not exercising is...
..."lack of time" and "lack of energy".
Tomorrow, I will discuss how proper exercise can give you more of both.
If exercise tends to make you tired, you will want to read this for sure.
